The Nature Education Center at Hemlock Crossings in Ottawa County, Michigan
In 2009, Ottawa County Parks & Recreation contracted with Development Strategies for a feasibility study for the construction of a Nature Education center. Once the project was green lighted by the County, Development Strategies managed the capital campaign that successfully generated 1.1 million dollars for the construction of the facility.
The center has exhibits, a wildlife den with critters and activities, a wildlife viewing area where you can watch animals at feeders, and a gift shop. The center hosts a variety of educational programs for schools and groups and, along with the surround trails, the nature center is open to the public.
